The highest temperature used for melting chocolate is about 200°F (95°C), as heating at or above this point risks burning the chocolate.  Refrigerating the molded chocolate for an hour or so (until cold and hard)  is helpful for de-molding.

The recommended baking temperature for cakes is usually between 325°F and 350°F (160°C and 180°C) for optimal results.

The highest temperature recommended for a tin-lined copper baking mold is around 400°F (204°C).
